Young Driver Rentals Made Simple
Many big rental companies turn young drivers away or charge huge surcharges. At Marathon, young drivers are welcome. Here's what you need to know before you book.
Drivers Ages 21 to 24
$10/day
Young driver fee. Most of our fleet is available, except luxury, sports cars and 15-passenger vans.
Drivers Ages 18 to 20
$25/day
Young driver fee. Economy, Compact and Intermediate cars. Select “18-20” when booking.
Fees are examples, vary by vehicle type and are subject to change.
Requirements for Drivers Ages 18 to 20
- A valid, active driver's license.
- A major credit card in the renter's name (debit cards reviewed case by case).
- Your own full-coverage auto insurance that transfers to a rental car, including liability and collision.
- Your policy number and your insurance company's phone number, so we can verify coverage before pick-up.
International Renters Under 21
You'll need proof of liability coverage, using one of these options:
- Option A: travel insurance that states in writing that it includes third-party liability for rental cars in the U.S. (bring a printed copy).
- Option B: a temporary non-owner auto liability policy from a U.S. insurance agency.
You'll also need a major credit card that includes rental car collision coverage. Please check this with your card issuer before you arrive.
